How did you get here?
I started my professional career as a career counselor but then went off to explore different areas of higher ed. I’ve worked as an academic adviser, coordinated orientation and peer mentor programs, and taught “first year experience” courses. I’ve come full circle back to career counseling and appreciate the holistic perspective that I have gained from all of the experiences in between.

What’s cool about your job?
The coolest thing about my job is getting to hearing people’s dreams and ambitions!

What’s the best career advice anyone has given you?
My favorite career advice, especially for new graduates just starting out, comes from John Krumboltz (a career theorist):
“Life is a big adventure, a great mysterious adventure, but it’s fun. It’s fun to be a living human being on planet earth. And let’s enjoy it. and let’s try things. We don’t know what’s going to be best for us, but we have to try different alternatives in order to find out.”

Interests/Hobbies
I love all things outdoors and animals. I love to swap pet stories!
