Education
M.P.A., Public Administration
B.A., Theater

How did you get here?
I started my career in the private sector where I obtained 10 years of experience in administration, sales, operations, and management. I then went back to school to obtain a master’s degree in Public Administration. As an MPA and an entrepreneur, I did contract work with local government, non-profit organizations, and small businesses in the areas of strategic planning, program evaluation, and management consulting. I became recognized for my work and it opened doors to new and unexpected opportunities. Most recently, I was the Recruiting and Professional Development Specialist for the California State Auditor’s office. In that role, I worked closely with staff, faculty, students, and alumni across the UC System. Those experiences and the relationships that were developed led me to joining the team at UC Berkeley.

Who do you work with? What’s cool about your job?
As a member of the Employer Relations team, I report to Santina Pitcher. What I find most fulfilling about my job is helping to position students for career success by providing them with opportunities and tools for professional development. I love that the role is creative and entrepreneurial, and varied enough that I can apply a full range of my skills and experience to it.

What’s the best career advice anyone has given you?
The only way to learn is to face the unknown. The only way to grow is to move outside of your current boundaries. The only way to gain is to take calculated risks.

Interests/Hobbies
Nearly everything in the creative realm excites me. I can delve, with equal excitement, into subjects ranging from architecture, to cooking, film, sculpture, graphic design, fashion, theater, painting, photography, furniture making, and more. My hobbies are equally as broad but I tend to focus on the sciences, health & fitness, history, religion, politics, social justice, the arts, and culture.
